Payment Details/Notes

It would be really, really helpful if we could either (a) change the display names of payments from PMT-1 to something more descriptive, (b) add notes to individual payments, or ideally ( c) both. Currently i have to go back into the invoice and record the check # that was used to pay me in the invoice notes, and that’s really not a logical place for it. |

I was just going to start a topic on this myself. What I find missing is a place to list check numbers and to make a note like “50% Deposit” or “Credit Card Payment”. It is difficult to have two people look at cashboard and not have this info available, especially if you are trying to track monies from several different sources like, paypal and your bank. I know you will work it out Seth. Thanks for the great product and happy birthday to the coolest program around! T |

Appending a notes field has been on my list awhile. Just has slipped through the cracks. It’s easy, so if I push a release this week I’ll try to get it in there. |

Yeah! As I said before Seth…you are soooo cool! T |

Done…added a notes field for companies and people as well. Enjoy ;) |

Any chance at (a) changing the display names of payments from PMT-### to something more descriptive? While the notes are great, they are not displayed in any of the listings. Each payment has to be checked for what the note may be. |

Depending on the content of the note, it could be pretty long. However I’m not against showing the description as a field in the table listing. That’s the screen you’re talking about right? |

Could the note, or a crop of it, be shown as the tooltip for the payment? So when you hover over you are able to see the notes? |

I was actually looking at the Account Ledger Overview, which lists Invoices and Payments. I use the Invoice name/number to identify specific types of Invoices (support contract versus actual work). If the Payment name/number was customizable, I could quickly identify which Payments were for Contract Invoices versus Work Invoices. |
