Hi Seth! I think this is great that you have set this forum up! I still am doing some extra steps in cashboard that I would love to not have to do if at all possible.

I do not line item my estimates for clients – I just total the estimate and invoices. That way people don’t pick away at how something can cost what it does. I would love a feature that would allow me to hide the flat rate/hourly rate from clients.

Right now I have to download the pdf, take it into acrobat and put a fill over the top of the $$$ columns to hide the info. Then I proceed to save it as a pdf again and then send to my client form my desktop. Cashboard then doesn’t show that it was ever sent and my husband/business partner gets confused when doing the books.

Please can you address this?

Thanks!

Could you possibly email me a copy of one of these PDFs so I can see what you mean? (support at getcashboard dot com)

I do agree, there should be a way to mark these manually sent. There was that feature once upon a time, but it was removed in favor of doing it automatically when sent via email. This will probably reappear as a checkbox on the Details screen of each invoice.

It makes total sense to have that capability if you plan to print out invoices instead of sending them electronically.

I have sent you the file so you can get an idea of what I am doing. As you will see, I am basically covering the rate area with a white fill box so that my line items don’t show. I was thinking if there was some way to make that area non-printing by checking a box (as in Quickbooks and other programs) then I could decide whether or not to let a client view that part. Tracy

...I never got an email. Did you forget to send it? :)

I sent it. I’ll try again.

Got it this time – I’ll be taking a look at it…

Thanks…it would be lovely not to have to go through all the extra steps.

I agree, this is vital in some of my jobs as well to be able to timetrack using rates without having those rates disclosed.
