Multi-project clients? Basecamp non-integration?

In Basecamp you can award client users access to multiple projects via a simple checkbox list, but then when those same projects are synced to Cashboard, I have to make multiple user accounts for my clients so they can access Cashboard for the various projects. I’m sure it’s getting pretty confusing on their end. For instance, the same guy is CEO of our local downtown BIA, which I’ve done rebranding for, and director of a local not-for-profit which I did web work for. But in Cashboard I need two separate users for him. And not just separate users, but separate users with different email addresses! Luckily he has 2 addresses, but if I start on a project for his other venture, I’m going to look a little foolish, especially since he’s gotten to expect the way I make invoices available online as part of my process and a selling point for my services. It’d be great as well if he could just remember one user/pw combo for both my Basecamp and Cashboard interfaces, but this makes that impossible. This is just one example—I’ve had others and know more are on the way. I’m sure this must be at least somewhat common, especially if one works in more arts and entertainment community/NFP/governmental sectors where people often where multiple hats (and generate repeat business as a result). It’d be great to see a tweak to make Cashboard’s user system a little more flexible (and Basecamp-compatible) in this area. |

This is a common request, and something I’ve been thinking about. Definitely needs to be addressed – but probably later rather than sooner (think months instead of days). |
