Topic: Troubleshooting & Bug Reports / Tracking finances. "So, tax time!" I’m doing my small biz taxes at the moment, and I must confess I haven’t been diligent in organizing my expenses and income through the year. SO I’m trying to find a shortcut to collecting all my payments out of Cashboard, and my question is this: How can I get a report out of Cashboard that itemizes my income over the fiscal year? |

Topic: Feature Requests / Multi-project clients? Basecamp non-integration? In Basecamp you can award client users access to multiple projects via a simple checkbox list, but then when those same projects are synced to Cashboard, I have to make multiple user accounts for my clients so they can access Cashboard for the various projects. I’m sure it’s getting pretty confusing on their end. For instance, the same guy is CEO of our local downtown BIA, which I’ve done rebranding for, and director of a local not-for-profit which I did web work for. But in Cashboard I need two separate users for him. And not just separate users, but separate users with different email addresses! Luckily he has 2 addresses, but if I start on a project for his other venture, I’m going to look a little foolish, especially since he’s gotten to expect the way I make invoices available online as part of my process and a selling point for my services. It’d be great as well if he could just remember one user/pw combo for both my Basecamp and Cashboard interfaces, but this makes that impossible. This is just one example—I’ve had others and know more are on the way. I’m sure this must be at least somewhat common, especially if one works in more arts and entertainment community/NFP/governmental sectors where people often where multiple hats (and generate repeat business as a result). It’d be great to see a tweak to make Cashboard’s user system a little more flexible (and Basecamp-compatible) in this area. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Unbranded emails I concur! This would be a really excellent leg up for Cashboard, cause you’ve already got the PDF invoice worked in so nicely. Unbranded emails/Invoice template customization would be near the top of my feature requests! But please don’t make these features out of reach, pricewise! |

Topic: Feature Requests / Hiding Rates I agree, this is vital in some of my jobs as well to be able to timetrack using rates without having those rates disclosed. |

Topic: Feature Requests / What would make folks flock from Freshbooks Yes, more Ajax would be excellent. Slow times inputting my data is an issue for me where Freshbooks has an edge. But yeah, it’s true that some things about Cashboard are really remarkable, and especially considering, as you say, that you’re only 6 mo’s as opposed to 4 years. Which was a big part of why I started this thread. I think Cashboard is brimming with a lot of potential. Thanks for your reply, Seth. I’ll think about what specific interface changes might make things more intuitive for me. I just find I have a hard time locating things, even though I’ve been using Cashboard a fair while longer than Freshbooks. |

Topic: Feature Requests / What would make folks flock from Freshbooks Yeah I saw Expenses on the sticky, but it was down in the “stuff we’re contemplating for sometime in the possibly distant future” column, so I thought I’d bring it up as something they might want to put more of a priority status on. |

Topic: Feature Requests / What would make folks flock from Freshbooks Hey guys, If you guys adopted a cleaner, quicker-loading interface, you’d get folks flocking from Freshbooks, I believe. Cashboard has better Basecamp sync, better time-tracking (OS X widget!), better project management tools, etc… You guys have a ton going for Cashboard and other Freshbooks people who I’ve show Cashboard or who I’ve seen talking about Cashboard have agreed you guys are superior in a lot of ways—but folks don’t make the jump, cause Cashboard seems clunky in comparison in terms of being fast and simple to use. You guys already have a lot of the features Freshbooks users have been clamouring for. Update the UI and if it’s done right, it’ll be instant gold, I guarantee. On a lesser note, I’ve seen a lot of Freshbooks users who want an expense ledger integrated. If you guys beat them to the punch… Shazzam! (But still, the UI is integral.) |
