Topic: Feature Requests / Time Sheet Templates
No worries. I understand feature prioritization. Just throwing it out here in hopes other people need it, will see it, and will speak up about it.
Yep! Saw that. Tried using it. Unfortunately our weeks start monday and end sunday. So Cashboard weekly PDFs are not useful for us. Also, our client cares about the Notes more than the Task Names.
Oooooohh.. I may look deeper into this if I have time. Sounds promising. Thanks for the feedback! peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Time Sheet Templates LOL dude. Every time I request a feature, it baffles you. I don’t mean to be confusing! I submit an invoice to my clients every two weeks. I am required to submit time sheets for each employee, so my client can see what each employee worked on for each day of the week. In order to generate these time sheets I run a search in Cashboard and save the CSV file. Then I style the CSV data and do some basic math (totaling) within Excel or Numbers (Mac) so that the time sheet looks more professional and has my corporate info, logo, etc. and save it as a PDF. A time sheet template within Cashboard would be used to style exports of time data in a handy PDF format. peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Time Sheet Templates I would like to request the ability to create templates for time sheets in the same manner we can create them for invoices, etc. peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Associate Invoice to Client OK, I think I have a work-around here. I’m having all my employees enter time as unbillable. Then I’ve created a task for each employee (in each project) like so: Task: Now when each billing period ends, I will add 1 billable task entry, per employee, for the total number of hours and mark that as the only billable task. This gives me an invoice that looks like my sample above while also being linked to projects, etc. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Associate Invoice to Client Seth: It could be that I’m trying to make Cashboard fit our business model when in actuality our model is out of scope for your product. My invoices look like this: http://infinityenterprise.com/downloads/acme.pdf This is because we are closer to being a head-hunting firm than a per-project web design shop. My consultants work onsite along side the client’s salaried employees. For example a project may have 2 client employees and 1 consultant of mine. In this scenario, the salaried employees are not responsible for keeping time sheets, but my consultants are (if they want to get paid). Consequently, when I invoice the client they just want to know how many hours each of my consultants worked in the previous 2 weeks. They also want consultant time sheets included with each invoice so the project managers can approve the hours are billable. But that data is separate from the invoice. My consultants do not have pre-defined “tasks” up front. They have a 6 month contract to make the client happy. Their tasks vary each day. One day they may be resolving a defect in production. The next they may be writing a technical design based on a requirements document. In the end, the client doesn’t want all of the details cluttering up the invoice and confusing the guy in the finance department who is responsible for paying it. Please don’t hear me as complaining… I’m not. We’re using Cashboard now and just the time sheet feature and invoicing parts alone have reduced my headache factor considerably… even though I can’t import any time from projects into my invoices. I can search time sheets by consultant, project, and time interval… and then add invoice line-items on my own and that is better than the spreadsheet nightmare I was in before. This is the feature request section. I have been impressed from day 1 that you are very active here. It was part of the reason I chose CB over the competition. That, and the blog activity. I understand if my needs are out of scope. But I’ll never know if I don’t ask. I still think my request is valid. I get that you do not presently have a direct relationship between a project and a invoice line-item. I’m just casting my vote as one customer for the feature to be added. Thanks for your work and thank you for making Cashboard available, with the current pricing model, so people like me don’t have to go about and write it ourselves. peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Associate Invoice to Client I send invoices to my clients which contain strictly invoice line-items that are not directly tied to project tasks. Consequently, these invoices do not show up in the Project -> Invoices page. I’d like to request the ability assign an invoice to a project (or vice versa), regardless of the presence of billable tasks. peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Link to payroll systems? Seth: Do you have plans to link to the various payroll systems out there? Ultimately the total hours for each time sheet will end up as a W2 or 1099 payment to one of my employees. Would be great to be able to send those totals over to a payroll system such as ADP. peace|dewde |

Topic: Feature Requests / Showing time entry notes on Timesheet PDF? Hello: My clients want details. With my current setup I furnish timesheets with details concerning each task for every consultant. Cashboard appears to provide the notes feature so that I can capture this info, but as I’ve been playing around I can only seem to get the task notes to show up on an invoice, and not on an actual timesheet (PDF). |
